Overview（概述）
Thissurgicalprocedurefusesyouranklejointwitharod 这个手术用一根通常称为“钉”的棒将踝关节融合在一起。它穿过脚和小腿的骨头。如果脚踝有严重的关节炎或其他严重的问题，这种融合可能会有所帮助。对于全踝关节置换术后失败者，可能也需要进行这种手术。
Preparation（准备）
Inpreparationfortheprocedure,youareanesthetized.Thesurgeoncreatesoneortwoincisionsintheskintoaccesstheankle.Theendofthefibula(thethinboneofyourlowerleg)mayberemoved.Thesurgeonreshapesthetibia,talusandcalcaneus,removingcartilagefromtheendsofthesebones.Thiswillhelpthesebonesfusetogether.Ifthebonesinyouranklehavedeteriorated,thesurgeonmayuseaspecially-preparedbonegrafttofillinthespacesbetweenthebonestohelpensureproperfusion.
准备手术时，先施行麻醉。外科医生在皮肤上作一个或两个切口以进入脚踝。腓骨（小腿的细骨）的末端可能会被切除。外科医生将胫骨，距骨和跟骨重新排列，将这些骨头的末端的软骨去除。这有助于使这些骨头融合在一起。如果脚踝的骨头破坏，外科医生可能会使用专门准备的骨移植填充骨头之间的空隙，以确保融合。
InsertingtheRod（插入髓内钉）
Aguidewireisinsertedthroughthebottomofthecalcaneus.Thesurgeondrillsatunnelupthroughthisbone,throughthetalusandintothetibia.Therodisplacedthroughthistunnel,lockingthesebonestogether.Therodissecuredwithaseriesofscrewsplacedthroughadditionaltunnels.
从跟骨的底部插入导丝。外科医生经跟骨钻出骨隧道，穿过距骨，进入胫骨。穿过这条隧道，安装髓内钉，把这些骨头锁定在一起。髓内钉是用一系列的螺钉穿过另外的骨隧道固定。
EndofProcedureandAftercare（手术结束及术后护理）
Whentheprocedureis 手术完成后，关闭切口，包扎患足。将脚放在夹板、支具或靴子内固定。最初，患侧踝关节不能负重。几周后，开始物理治疗。当病人恢复正常活动时，修改过的鞋有助于更舒适地行走。
